Rear SAM removal GL350

Im getting false bulb warning messages from the rear of the vehicle and the backup camera comes up on the Command system when in reverse, but no backup camera footage is displayed. How do you remove the rear SAM module in a 2010 GL350? To my understanding it is the black module mounted to the floor in the rear access panel? Many people say remove the spare tire for better access but the diesel emissions system replaces the spare in the 350. I'm hoping to expose the internals and clean the module with contact cleaner.

From WIS it looks like the SAMs are under the driver's seat, under the second row right seat, and behind the trim panel in the cargo area on the right (passenger's side LHD) side. Have you explored the areas outside of what would be the traditional spare tire storage area?

It has to be the SAM in the cargo area. I'll try to fish it out tomorrow maybe and see if I can find anything that looks corroded.

At some point, location of rear Sam was changed from rear end by right taillight to under right middle seat.

Remove 3 10 millimeter nuts holding the rear SAM holder. You'll need a longer extension with two nuts in the front of the SAM unit and one hiding behind the SAM unit under the air vent. Unplug the SAM unit and the SAM unit holder along with the SAM should lift out of the vehicle. Two plastic release tabs made onto the rear SAM hold the module in the SAM holder. Release by pushing tabs inwards and pulling the SAM out of the holder.
