Just bought 2010 GL450 Salvage

The journey has begun. Missing rear wheel, axle, spindle, air strut. Trying to find a local parts car I can strip. I'll be learning new things on this repair. Hoping to get driving, then have body shop pull out some places. Then my plan is to bondo/sand/prime, then take it back to the shop for paint. I'll try to upload pics. If anyone has a 2007-2012 GL450 parts car, please let me know.

Interesting - I think the board will be curious as to condition and costs. Good luck!

Congrats on your purchase. Mine isn't a salvage title, but records show that one previous owner crashed into a curb or something and needed a new wheel, axle, shock, etc., But whatever the issue was, the car runs and drives perfectly today. I think they become a salvage title if and when an insurance company is forced to pay for the repair and it exceeds a certain amount that wrecks their day. In fact, I have a Maserati with a salvage title only because a detail shop used a wrong chemical on the dash top leather, which made the surface bubble up like moon craters. Because of the huge astronomical cost to replace that part with factory original (thousands) an insurance company was forced to pay, and so the car has a salvage title. Other than the dash top, the car is 99.8% drop dead mint and perfect! Today, you can find that dash top on eBay from Australia, for around $400
