Hello, I have posted this thread due to gl320's suspension malfunction.
The car, Gl320 2009 CDI currently have these following symptoms/ background: -Both front air struts are not functioning, it barely not touching the fender -changed fuse for air compressor, but still says "malfunction" on console -went shopping for two times, they changed the compressor two times and said "air compressor was problem" each time. -not suspected air leaking sounds, also did "bubble test" on every air pipe that can be reached. -seems to be making "tik tik" sound( air compressor sound but not 100% sure) -Both rear struts taller than front ones, 8cm or around 2-inch difference? -( Don't have OBD2 reader for MB )
By these symptoms, I have suspected these following parts are making the problem: -Airmatic valve malfunction -Air compressor malfunction -maybe unchecked air leak
For now,
I'm going to check the voltage on line that goes to the air compressor, then decide whether it is a relay problem or air compressor.
If the current is present, probably it is a compressor. If not then the relay.
Not sure with the air valve and the rest of the ways to solve this problem, so please let me know about the symptoms of air valve malfunction.
If you have any suggestions or the way that I am approaching is right or wrong, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
front passanger side, same situation on driver side. rear right, left as well.
Thanks for the advice, I found out the ride height sensor could be the possible problem right after I wrote the post.
I will check for it and let it know on this comment.
I took out the air compressor, found out that it was working.
Then moved to the fuse box. I recently plugged 107 airpump 40amp fuses cause it was missing, but didn't realize 108 air compressor for air suspension 40amp fuse was brunt out.
I guess I learned a lesson, "check the fuses". still gotta do final check, but pretty sure its okay.
suggest you don't have so may threads open with the same problem as I have wasted time answering one other of yours suggesting it is a locked rotor on compressor
The compressor should make a whiring sound (not a click) - like an old fashion fridge perhaps
Can you scan the codes - it might help us help you
I did have front bag leak but compressor could pump it up ok - it was only a small leak though
I tried relocating the sensors left to right etc but it was the bag in the end - no audible hiss from the bag
