Airmatic Problem
Hi everyone! Having another painful MB Airmatic problem, I recently replaced all 4 bags as I had a leak in a couple. Now the problem I am facing is that, the air compressor would turn on when I start driving the truck (when I get to about 20-40km/h) and will remain on but once I press the brake and get to a stop, it will turn off and remain off. Once I start moving, it will engage again and then turn off again once I get to a stop. What can be the problem? Its a 2008 Mercedes Benz GL320 CDI.

The mere knowledge of you hearing the compressor while driving means that its probably failing and making a lot of noise.
Given that it is working extra hard, either its weak (failing due to earlier leak or age) or there is still a leak which is in turn making it work extra hard. Its failing anyway, since it is this loud. Usually they last 70-90K miles..

check to see which bags are leaking and replace them before splurging on a new compressor.
