My mechanic replaced my secondary air pump and switch in my 2012 Mercedes GL 450. He reset my check engine light and it goes back on after a couple of days any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Did you try to search the code online? what is the result of code search?
Obviously, car doesn't think that the problem is fixed. either diagnosis was wrong or your new part is defective.
If changing a component doesn't fix the code, usually it is wiring related to that component.

Yes the code was 0810 and 0814 which is the problem I talked about. He thought the same thing on the defective part and replaced it and it came back again. I will tell him to check the wiring. Thank you for your quick response

Verify the air pump check valves for obstructions, sometimes they have a lot of dirty from the exhaust system inside and can't let the air flow correctly;
if this not the case, check the oxygen sensors signal with a oscilloscope or Star Diagnosis tools, sometimes they are going bad.

Or you can tell him to get the proper equipment and do correct diagnostic. For example, using Xentry software you can actually do a function test of the air injection system. Once you see the failure you can proceed to inspect several items. I don't know if any other aftermarket scanner will do this test.
