GL350 loud clatter at startup
We are near the end of a 3 week, 2,000 mile adventure through the western national parks, pulling our Airstream with the GL. It's been spectacular.
We are staying at Bryce Canyon, so it's in the 40s at night, and I'm noticing a loud clatter at morning startup that immediately quiets down. I've got 90,000 miles on the truck, and already had the timing chain replaced once at around 50,000 miles.
Have any of you had their timing chain fail twice?

There are documented cases of multiple timing chain failures with the OM642. I've noticed that it is usually the 70k - 110k mark on the first one and 150k to 200k on the second. Sounds like your engine may be an over achiever or there is something else causing the timing chatter other than a stretched chain.
