I'd like to replace the rubber gasket for my power steering reservoir cap but apparently MB does not sell it separately and I need to get the whole assembly. Is there an aftermarket alternative for this gasket?

A new reservoir Is about $75 with a new inlet pipe o-ring...by the time your cap needs replacement your inlet pipe o-ring will also need replacement. That being said, I’ve never heard if anyone having a leak from the cap...it’s usually always from the o-ring that seals the reservoir onto the pump inlet pipe.

I’d focus on that before anything else in the ps system. If you’re seeing leakage from the pipe it should be negligible unless it’s overfilled.

Do you know the size of the o-ring? Got a bit of a leak and would like to tidy things up before the road trip. It would suck to get into it and find I don't have the o-ring handy.
