2009 gl450

air shock exploded

my 2009 gl450 was sitting in my driveway, I went outside and noticed is was leaning really bad. took the right wheel off only to see the air bag had actually popped.
I replaced it and the new one will NOT air up. The compressor is working, it is only a month old. Could it be a bad shock? or What I need help

Ok...which one - front right? If you dont get that bag sealed over the old shock it’ll never inflate. Usually it’ll “pop” in upon first inflation.

Dead shocks won’t cause lean, just bounce. If you found excessive oil in the shock towers or signs of leakage when you removed it then it’s done.

Check your hose connection first then the level sensor on that corner. The exploding bag may have broken or bent it.

To be pedantic ... it’s an air spring. At the front it’s combined in a single unit with a hydraulic shock absorber. At the rear, the two components are separate.
