Anybody try Lithium Iron batteries?
The only local version available here maxes at 30AH and 800CCA only.. They say it's equivalent to 100AH regular batteries.
~same price, 50% longer warranty, 1/2 the weight.
wrt the AH discrepancy, I don’t see how AHs could be different - should be an apples to apples comparison matter what reaction provides the power.
Dealing with dead batteries on 4 cars every other year, is just a pain.
From my quick google searching 1) recharging is faster and efficiency loss during transfer of the power is better on Li batts, thus requiring less energy stored 2) Only 50% of the AH stored or something like that of an AGM is useable, whereas more is useable on a Li, so less required to be stored and 3 ) something about resistance is 1/3 of that of AGM, so apparently that makes up the rest of the difference of the 30AH vs 100AH... but this is all based on quick searches...
Anyways, looking for real world experience.... sounds like a whole new ball game when it comes to these batteries..
Wouldn't mind having the app for battery health and reserve power (so you don't need to jumpstart) that they tout with these new lithiums.
I've convinced myself to try it.. but the local Li version only rates to 800 CCA.. since it's not cold here at all, I'm wondering if its sufficient based on other's experiences
