2008 GL320 rack and pinion bushings
Hi, I have a 2008 GL320 and need to replace the driver's side rack and pinion bushing. Since the bolt's head is towards the differential side and there is not space remove it, can I just cut the bolt and replace it with a new one placing it the other way?

Rather than cutting the bolt, I removed the two bolts on the differential and lifted it up enough to get the steerting rack bolt out. After that its a pretty easy job.

Thank you for your advice, I will try doing that way, I thought it was harder to loosen the differential. I'll let you know how it worked out

Also, when installing the new bushings you'll notice that the part that gets inserted in to the rack is flat. Since both sides have two pieces, make sure you orient them 90 degrees from eachother (the flat piece is positioned horizontally on the front side and vertical on the rear or vice-versa).

No need to cut anything. This is not a difficult job, just need a little patience
