Looking to put a set of 315/40R21 tires on my factory wheels, are they too big? Can anyone who has done this give me any feedback, pros and cons? Thank you!

my concern would be whether you have 4 mm on each side of the new tire to clear the suspension and inner fender when the car goes over bumps and the suspension compresses, so you don't get the tire rubbing on anything. Something to keep in mind: your speedometer will be a little off as well.

That's exactly my concern and why I decided to ask on here and see if someone with personal experience can give me some feedback. I have a set of 285/45r22's that came on it when I bought it which are quite a bit taller than the stock 295/40r21 setup so my speedo is already off a bit. I'd like to get back down closer to the factory height and fill up the wheel well which the 315/40r21 or even 315/35r21 should do, I'm just concerned about them possibly rubbing.

I’ve got 315/40ZR21 on the factory amg wheels. No rubbing, No clearance issues.
