AUX Input

I Have a 2008 GL450. Is there an AUX input somewhere in this car?

I'm not sure if one was available. Mine came with a 30 pin Apple connector. I later added a Mobridge interface to get Aux in, which I wouldn't recommend for the price.

Left side of inside glovebox there is a mini rca jack.
that corresponds to the AUX input on the Comand Audio menu.
if you have the ancient iPod hookup the iPod input also functions off the aux input and defeats the rca jack input.

i just roll my iphone with an rca adapter and run everything off of it.

I guess I should also mention my car has the rear seat entertainment option, so I’m guessing the only inputs are beneath the seat in the rear?

That answer, I wouldn't know - I don't have that option. But, did you look in the glovebox?

I did, did not see anything in there, is there a hidden compartment or piece it would be under?

It is a 3.5mm female jack on the left wall of the glove box.

No, like Eric said, nothing hidden.

My car has the rear seat entertainment option so there is no AUX input, there is only the inputs that are under the rear seat where the DVD system is.

Just from what I've read here on this forum in the past, and from what was mentioned above in that post, it seems there should then be an iPod hookup? Maybe someone removed it? Seems an odd thing to remove. Check again (everywhere) in the glovebox... or maybe it's in the center console? Maybe one of the guys that has it can say where it is.

The little one is my RCA mini jack AUX line in.
The thick one is the iPod connector.

OP, you have neither of these?

The 2008 manual doesn't seem to mention aux for vehicles with rear entertainment option. Psge 315. Maybe a limitation of the Command NTG2 version?

I looked extra carefully, and my glovebox does not have any of those. By looking at the owners manual, it mentions that vehicles with the rear seat entertainment do not come with the input jack, which I find very weird. But I guess I’ll have to stick with the Bluetooth radio adapter that doesn’t really work, but oh well.

Thanks for the help everybody!

Sorry bud, because that AUX input jack is the only thing that hasn't become obsolescent in this car.

lol reminds me of the "Repurposing the SOS Button" thread.

Honestly, the most satisfaction I've had is pulling out unneeded parts and selling (Sirius and phone modules) or repurposing (CD changer) them.

Couldn't believe it, but I was able to get a few bucks for the front engine cover and the styrofoam block holding the tools over the mini spare. Also even sold the first aid kit.

That almost makes up for my lameness in selling three wheels only to re-buy them when I realized I would probably want snow tires.

I can't believe they got rid of the aux input with the rear seat entertainment option. That's messed up.
