2007 GL450 shuts off 3-4 secs with Brake and Airbag Waring Light
Background.
I had to change the engine due to the piston blew, it worked for 4 months till the dreaded Airmartic issue whereby the car will not lift. Found out to be a faulty gl450 air suspension module, swapped it with a spare. A week after replacing the air suspension module was driving the car to work about 26 miles and vehicle stopped at stop light at around 24miles with those errors tried starting same issue, left the car to cooldown for 4 hrs, was able to drive back 22 miles then it totally failed left it for 3 to 4 hours still the same issue had to get the car towed back to the house. Plugged it to the daigs and it would not read the Engine ECU,
I sent the ECU for repairs in ebay was told it could not be fixed. I then purchased a ECU from a donor car with the key it started without any issue but the gear box will not **** to drive, probably it was due to a digit was off on the part number of the engine ECU but not sure.
I then set the ECU to get cloned and the cloner totally messed the donor ECU, it would not start got my money back and processed to clone it myself .
Took some google but was able to purchase ktag, read the original but was concerned, I was unable to read the vin number on the original ECU but it backed up properly. Transferred to the Donor ECU.
Success! So it thought it started driving the car for 4 days to work and on the 5th day stopped with the same issue, but this time I was very fortunate it was 10 miles from the house and I was able to get it back home after cool down and removal of the battery.
Currently the car only stays on for 10 mins after removing the battery terminals and putting it back in after cooling.
I really do not want to trade the car in because, the original owner kitted the car out with Lorenzo kit and it looks beautiful. They are very few GL450 with the Lorenzo kits hence that's why I would like to keep it.
confirm that your car is dry inside before you throw any more money at it. Look in the spare tire well and under the passenger seat battery compartment for signs of moisture.
