Another suspension issue

So I am going to give the short story of my long one. I installed lowering links on my 2008 Mercedes gl450 on the front end of the vehicle and I could never get them to the right height to what I wanted cause I have 22” wheels installed and they rubbed slightly . So I decided to shorten the links which would in theory would trick the sensor and make the car rise height wise. Well unfortunately the car won’t budge at all . It neither goes up or down anymore. The rear of the car is perfectly stock and also doesn’t go up or down when I pressure the suspension to raise or lower the car. I have scanned the car for obd codes and have gotten nothing. The lowering links are not installed on the rear of the vehicle just to be clear. Also I can hear the suspension air compressor turn on but the car doesn’t raise or lower and after a couple of minutes of the compressor running the malfunction appears on the cluster. To say I am at loss for what’s wrong would he understatement. Any help would be great. Also I do not hear any hissing noise as if air is leaking out of the front airbags .

Now just one GL450 with EORP.
Do you have an airmatic with arrow up error message in white?

by shortening the front link you may have overtraveled the sensor range and the set invalid inputs to the airmatic module. It just then gives up.

Or, it thinks the car is so low that it triggers the compressor to run until it overheats, filling a now highly pressurized central reservoir and bags.

depends on how much you cut it.

airmatic codes don’t show up in OBD, they show up in chassis if you have a das/star clone system, or maybe in drivetrain/ESP if you’re using a cheap obd2 scanner.

Thanks for responding To my post . So from what I read about the lowering links is if I shorten them it will raise the car and if I making them longer is will lower it. I am actually using an icarsoft obd scanner and I do have a star clone but was trying to not use that cause it’s pain in the *** to lug out in the freezing cold and hook it up. I was thinking of changing the height level sensors on front. Also the front airbags on the suspension are not even a year old as well as the rear ones. I do want to get the part circled in the picture below cause when I removed the link linkage it bent a little. Anyone know a part # and also I am going to try the clone star as well check the esp part of the icarsoft scanner

The iCarSoft MB II I use has an Airmatic section/module. Check for errors there. You can select Automatic scan or manually select the module.
