Search this forum. The answer is already staring at you.

To be honest (not gonna lie), asking a question "without having searched first" bothers the heck out of me.

Interesting response. Perhaps a sign of the times, but most likely your age.

Good luck getting help on this forum with that approach and mindset.

But, Jeff, imagine it from someone else's point of view. No one else KNOWS that you searched first, you know?

BUT... back on point. I don't know the part number, however, there is a recent thread about this exact subject and I'm pretty sure there were pics and part numbers in that. I'm sure you look for that, you can find it. Maybe even just page down through the thread titles - I know it's there because I remember reading it.

And... it would probably be good to verify what vehicle you are asking about. Your signature only says 300SD and nowhere in the title or your post do you mention an X164... so again, from our persepctive, you could be posting in the wrong forum. Remember, YOU know what you're asking, but we only know what you write.

Well.... excellent job proving my point, since, just by looking to the left of my post you would have seen that I have been a member since 2004, while you have only recently joined (2020). But sure.. you've been on just as long as I have.

As for age, perhaps you ARE older than myself (congratulations?), however, the way you choose to express yourself shows a much less mature mind.

On that note, we are here to help: "Give a Man a Fish, and You Feed Him for a Day. Teach a Man To Fish, and You Feed Him for a Lifetime"

Use the search function. When you find your answer, come back and post it here for the benefit of others who may have the same question in the future and... wait for it... choose to search for the answer!

I am done with this topic. You are dismissed.

****
My apologies to the forum for the rant.

Use the search function. A topic on the lower shields was just discussed last week. If you searched "shield" in the x164 forum, it was the 5th thread.

Here it is for your reference:
https://mbworld.org/forums/gl-class-...h-shields.html

Not sure which engine shield you are requesting, but assuming 164-520-12-70

Also, a google search for "Mercedes GL engine shield" also pulls up the requested item.

Please do some research before asking your questions; you'll save yourself a lot of time and also not frustrate other members.

Jeff, you missed the point I was trying to inform you of. Regarding the 300SD, how would I know that you're in the right forum based on the information you provided? You were not clear so I asked for clarification to... wait for it... better help you! I didn't realize asking for clarification on a vague post was such a bad thing. AGAIN, you know what you were asking about, but how do we know, for sure, without you writing it? Take a step back and look at things from someone else's perspective rather than a self-centered approach.

Along the same lines, we did direct you to where you could find the information. But it seems you wanted someone else to do all of the work for you...
