3 days ago when wife was driving kids back from school, suddenly she heard a pop and right rear sagged. She pulled into a parking lot but couldn't see anything like a flat tire or anything. She was close to home about 0.5 miles, so she drove it home. She and kids reported that it was a bumpy and wobbly/swaying ride.
That evening, I came home and looked at it and knew immediately what had happened.
this weekend I changed the shock and here are some pictures. Not only bag had popped but also folded on itself.
As far as I know this is the original one lasting 104k miles, or
least last 35k miles that I have had the car.

 

They should be changed in pairs. Basically both at the same time. Wow really lasted a long time the air bag.

 

If that’s the original bag (Continental?) you’re deeep deep into the failure window…14 yrs is really stretching it.

you can plan on replacing bags every 4-5 yrs and 80-120k.
