Car covers

Hello all I have a 2012 GL 450 for most of the time I kept it in the garage now I’ve moved and I’m going to a place that I don’t have a garage I’m thinking about purchasing a cover is that a good idea?? I usually have my truck detailed twice a year

I think only you can answer that question. Obviously, a nice, soft cover is key. But the real question is whether or not you want to, and will continue to, put it on and off every day.

Yah it’s probably just another task along with a million other things to do. I’ll just have it detailed more often I guess

I would be inclined to suggest you look at all the reviews on You tube, there are a lot of people giving their thoughts on all sorts of things be it a hedge cutter, a cordless drill, or car covers.
Well worth a bit of scrolling through to watch as it can help you to determine what might suit you the best as there are so many different types of cover out there

I have always been hesitant with car covers because I think the car should be very clean when putting the cover on or pulling it off. You are inadvertently sliding the cover over the surface and with any larger dirt particles or debris you'd be running the risk of scratching the clear coat. You may not notice at first, but over time it will add up and become more and more obvious. Yes, I am that OCD!

I agree but I think if I’m not going to use the car for a week or period of time I’ll clean it and then cover it then at least I know it’s clean

It makes sense in your case. I was thinking about covering/uncovering daily. If you clean the car before covering it, you should be fine.

It is a good idea to buy a cover for your car since you rarely use the car, and the cover is great for protecting the car from dust, rain, etc. But the most important thing is finding a good quality cover that can cope with this function. Today the market has a huge selection of products, making it very difficult to decide. When I bought a motorhome, I spent a lot of time choosing. I am not confident driving, so I decided to find which is easiest motorhome to drive. This information helped me choose a motorhome.
