Programming a used MB key fob...?

Purchased a spare set (used) of MB key fobs. I'm assuming I need to visit the dealer to get these programmed. Any ideas on what this would cost me?

Thanks,
Mark

Are you saying it's not possible for a dealer to program a key fob to match my vehicle...? I would find that hard to believe? If I lost my 2 key fobs the vehicle is junk...?

He is saying your used keys can't be reprogrammed. Brand new ones obviously can be programmed. You may have wasted your money on used keys.

no you can totally give them your car‘s VIN number and show them proof of ownership and they will gladly make you two new keys. What you cannot do is give them old keys that are programmed to some car that you don’t own. Because to do key programming it has to be a blank key, or unmarried from the car it previously belonged to and full stop - the dealer won’t do that because you don’t own that car.

I suppose there may be a corner case where you could argue that if you had two cars in one of the reuse the keys from one of them to the other they might let you do that.
