I won't go with fullsize. I am hoping the rumors for 2024 Toyota 4Runner are true and they go with a Turbo V6 or better yet offer it in the Taco.
Ram has the best interior (according to most people) for this generation. Go with a Laramie or above and you get rear seats that recline.

Turbo V6 in the Tacoma would cannibalize the Tundra, so I doubt they would do it. Hybrid turbo I4, maybe.

True about the Tacoma with V6, but honestly they sell so many more Tacmoa's than Tundra's. Lets say new gen GM and Ford totally outclass Nissan and Toyota in midsize power and it takes market share. I don't see
Toyota as a company that makes great course corrections.

The Ford Ranger Raptor looks pretty cool.

I drove a 2022 Ford Tremor. I could see that as a replacement with the OEM Ford Ecoboost tune. The 10-speed without the tune seems to want to upshift aggressively giving it a lugging feel.

The new Colorado/Canyon's look awesome. I would lean towards a TrailBoss or ATX. My wife is determined that I get a newer GLS580 with updated headrests. Honestly as good as my GL550 has been I am just ready for
something different. My father used to say it is way cheaper to change cars then wives. (even at the price of a new ATX4)

The new 2023 GMC Canyon AT4 looks to be a good fit. 310hp and 430lb of tq at 15000rpm. 7700lb tow rating with 1600lb payload. It will do everything I need. I put money down with in ten minutes of them coming out on a ATX4 E1, but that isn't what I will end up with.

Well I ended up ordering a 2023 Chevy Colorado Z71. Black, HO Engine (430tq vs 390tq )Sunroof, 360 camera, wireless charging, skid plates, leather, heated and cooled seats, heat steering wheel, and tow package. It came out to 47k. I wish it had the ultra wide body and lift of Trailboss, but then I couldn't get half of the options I wanted. The GMC AT4 came out to 52k for same truck, but I didn't want the Kalahari interior. The Black/Gray with red stitch looked best to me.

we got 3 kids, was tight in the GL. Im used to 1 ton trucks, so we picked up a mint condition low mile 2014 Ram 3500 megacab dually longhorn to haul the kids around. Double duty of pulling car trailers.
The amount of space in the back with the megacab is ridiculous. we all love it. And nice to fit all the groceries in the bed without shaving bags around the whole interior of the GL (with 3rd row up)

This is the way - a brutish crew cab that can do anything to supplant the GL.

I have a 2006 Megacab 1500 (it's really a 2500 with the 1500 badge). It's uncomfortable for unloaded trips and gets crap gas mileage. Our R class has the 3rd row down most of the time, so space was rarely a concern. It's hard to beat the Mercedes Airmatic ride.

Oh yes, the GL550 is a dream to drive the freeway with in comfort mode..except for me the seat bases are juuust a touch too short. my audi s8 had the extending thigh bolsters which were very nice...and the Ram just has sofas for seats so those are comfy too. If only the GL had extending thigh bolsters I would be 100% in love. The little hump the seat gets using the multi contour air function just aint it.
My ram and GL get the same mileage on the freeway within an MPG of each other..they both suck

Yep... except where I am diesel is about $2 more expensive than gas. The R gets almost double the mileage of the 5.7 Hemi.

I have no desire to drive a full-size truck. I might be I have never liked the Tundra or Silverado I have driven where I liked the Tacoma, Frontier, and Ranger.

I found the midsized more on playful side then land barge. The size also is a huge factor for fitting in my garage in general. I have a small 1000 square foot 4 car garage. (40x25) It was supposed to be 1200 square foot, but the city
wanted us to get a variance and it would have pushed back moving in 3 months.
