Outside Temperature Sensor P0073
I recently completed the AEM repair July 13th on my 2012 GL350. Today I got a check engine light and I took it to Auto Zone for a diagnostic read. I was advised my check engine light trouble was code P0073-The Outside Temperature Sensor Has A Short Circuit To Positive and the secondary code was P2201- NOx Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Bank 1.
Would code P0073 have a computer connection to code P2201?
Is this an issue with my recent AEM repair and where is the Outside Temperature Sensor located? What is the correct part number for my 2012 GL350 Outside Temperature Sensor if I have to replace it myself?
Will this check engine issue cause my vehicle to go into limp mode?

1. For under $10 you can get a bluetooth dongle to plug into your OBDC port and spare you the trips to and humiliation of Autozone. Get Torque Lite for your phone and you can read and clear trouble codes all day long.
2. Doubtful as far as I can tell. Could be an old code, too.
3. Unknown. Need to clear the error and see if it recurs.
4. Unknown. Strikes me as unlikely. Limp mode is a much more severe condition than a simple "mite result in smog, idk".
Clear the errors and see what the situation is.

Likely not connected to your engine ECM, but it might affect your climate controls - if the car doesn’t know what the OAT is it can’t regulate cabin temperature. It’s possible your AC compressor won’t engage.
intake temperature is measured by another sensor and is what the ECM uses to compute proper parameters for fuel addition and therefore combustion.
if the oat sensor it it’s harness is near where the AEM repair was it is likely that a tech broke a clip, the sensor or pinched its harness when doing that repair. Only way to know is reading the sensor out.

So, where is the OAT sensor and harness located? Would the Outside Temperature Sensor and the NOx described above in my comment be related to the Approved Emissions Modification repair?

You’ll need access to WIS or access to someone who has to answer that question; or the tubes for a directionally correct answer
