Lucked-out and got skidplate
I'm on my 2nd GL - first was a 2007 450, current is a 2011 550. Neither of them have/had the real ORP, but I off-road often & have had a couple of scares where rock-hits scared me thinking my transmission pan was toast. I had been eying the Off Road Package steel underguard/skid plates (not the decorative ones, the ones that cover the t-case/transmission) for some time, but never pulled the trigger - then they became unavailable... Irritated with myself, I started looking for a used one online about 2 years ago. Only found 1 in the US, but they wanted nearly $1,000 for it. I found some from Europe, but the shipping was crazy. Every once in a while I would do another search, with no luck. Then, last week, I spotted one on eBay listed as new for $142 & free shipping. Of course, I clicked on buy-it-now and completed the payment. Still a little skeptical, because it said it should ship in 5 days, I waited for a follow-up email saying it was a discontinued item, so they were canceling the order. Then I got a shipping notification. Well, it showed up! It's almost new - looks like someone installed it and didn't like it & returned it. The only indication of use was scraped paint around the bolt holes - glossy black everywhere else. The seller was ECSTuning, so I'm guessing they had a return that someone found back in the warehouse & stuck it on eBay to get rid of. Anyway, couldn't be happier. Ordered all the other OE installation bits after it showed up.
