Interesting Facts

Hi, I searched the forum to see if there was a consolidated thread that mentioned surprising/unique/generally unknown trivia about the GL Class vehicles. Not repair descriptions and "how-to's" but just discovered quirks, details, etc. I didn't find one. So, my contribution is this: The windshield wipers will not work (in a 2011 GL450) if the hood is not fully closed.

Now just one GL450 with EORP.
The car will not lower from the raised position with any door open.
Sense a trend here?

If you flash the headlights frantically while driving, the hazard lights turn on automatically.

How about raise from the lowered position? I could see not wanting the car moving when getting in or out. But, if it only does that in the raised position, seems odd.

Makes sense. I guess they don't care if you damage yourself, as long as the car is okay. Actually, I kind of feel that way myself.
