Front air spring/strut replacement

Do you change the entire strut or just the airbag? Approximately 120k miles

It’s a LOT easier to replace the whole strut.

But; It’s more cost effective to replace the bag on the strut, provided you have the tools and the strut isn’t leaking.

Dont even save the $100 replacing just the bag, went this route (AM options suck beating prying etc) and still had to buy the strut. Here are links for you make sure if you have a airride solenoid you purchase the correct one:

The hydraulic shock absorbers on these vehicles have a life very similar to the life of the air springs. Of course at front, spring and shock are combined into a single unit called a strut.

Replace shocks and springs together. They are both limited life items, and like tires, belts, wipers, etc., the need to replace them is normal maintenance and not a reliability issue nor a component failure.

How do I know if I have the Airride Solenoid? Only code 489 for semi-active suspension is on datacard and not any active dampening.
Have you tried those struts on Amazon? They seem very inexpensive.

Replaced both my fronts with the first options (With solenoid) they work great for the price. Look at the side of your strut youll see a solenoid and connector that runs close to wheel speed in the wheel well: https://gyazo.com/1688743459a0d08492f0aab0ff9cc7d1 . If you dont have this the strut tower will just be a circle seen in the second listing: https://gyazo.com/b8c0f0c9c7046d3a0740d42c061c59fe

If you don’t have active damping system, and those struts; excuse me LKChris; shocks, are very expensive - you should just buy the aftermarket fully packaged strut.
