Rear seat release handle regulation

Hi. Can somebody please advice, how can I regulate the rear seat release ? It got very hard to release it recently, I have to pull the handle very hard for the seat to release, even broke the handle. Also the same with the release red belt, need to pull it too hard.

Vise grip on what’s left of the plastic fold handle. There should be enough nub left to get a grip on it. There is also a 1x4cm steel plate inside the plastic fold handle, depending on where it broke some of it may be showing and you can grip on it with a tool.

Also use some silicone live to live the release mechanism, the get stiff due to spillage over the years, the mechanism build too much resting r and then the release levers break.

Thanks for the answer. I have already removed the fold handle and ordered a new one. It's possible to fold the seat by the red and black belt, but too hard. I think the problem is that the steel cable inside got loose.

It’s either loose or all of the soda and coffee spilled on it is making it tight.

i roll with a pipe wrench in the door pocket so I got some stares every now and then.
