ESP light on dashboard after Steering rack replaced
Hey guys,
so my mechanic replaced the steering rack on my 08 X164 and also I replaced my Clockspring cause my mechanic said it was faulty and it was causing the ESP light to come on .. needless to say that’s not totally true and I read the code and it’s the steering angle sensor that’s causing the code to come on. Any help would be great.
If the issue came up after rack replacement......... Then most likely the steering wheel turned on him while replacing the rack. If he installed a new steering column module then perform steering angle reset.

I tried the steering angle reset and no good.. can also been done by star? From my understanding the steering angle sensor isn’t part of the Clock-spring assembly and is a separate part. As I googled it I found this. If I buy one of these and make my mechanic pay for it. What is the procedure to programming it?

*** update. Mechanic is paying for a new steering angle sensor and a new Clockspring. Roughly $400 for those two parts and the guy who did the alignment is going to install them for free. He said yes literally a 15 min job. Thanks for the help.
