Airmatic noise
I thought I would share my experience with a noisy airmatic pump. It turns out that it was not the pump that was noisy, but that the hose supplying air to the compressor was vibrating with the pump and rubbing in two spots. I zip-tied some foam to the hose where it was rubbing (front bumper support and on top of the wheel well) and the noise in the cabin is almost gone.

If you're still getting a noise you should check the rubber mounting pads that the compressor is mounted to, to minimise vibration. I'd suggest that if your inlet pipe was vibrating its because the compressor is vibrating more than it should be. The pipe on its own shouldn't vibrate.
