Trying to find a power steering reservoir cap for my GL450...
So been searching far and wide. Kind of cracked part of the cap...it isn't exposing anything inside the reservoir but I'd like to just replace the cap now.
I can find the cap for all types of vehicles...but I cannot for the GL450 (2011). Is this a part that is common on other models of Mercedes and would work on the GL450...but online databases simply view it as 'not a match'?
If so...what other model could I select that would make it a match? I don't want to replace the entire reservoir for a cap...

Depending on how old your reservoir is it's time to change it anyway - there is a filter in there that clogs over time.
Or find a cap in a junkyard. Common to a lot of MB from the 00s.

Not to inflict a cascading series of repairs, but it would not be a bad idea to replace the pump and low pressure hoses at the same time if they are aged.

Also, verify you don't have a leak at the oil cooler-to filter canister interface ... just a new gasket required. This leak is common and you have to take the power steering reservoir off to fix it. There is a power steering bleeding procedure to perform when replacing the reservoir which you can likely find by searching X164 or W164 forums.

The PS reservoir is on sale for $20 at FCP euro now.
