Now just one GL450 with EORP.
Yes, the X164 will for sure have the same rack.
You’ll have to work on part numbers for the R

Thank you for taking time to answer the thread.
So v6 gl320 will work for sure and the ML500 and R350 I’ll need to look more into. Reason I asked is every day these cars sit in yard they are stripped of everything worth anything.
Tomorrow ML might have it and GL will not.

If you happen to know,is it possible to pop a seal into mine where tie rod slides in without removing whole rack?

Thanks

I don’t know, but WIS will.

The only caveat being that WIS will only include repairs that MB wants to include. For example, the transfer case chain is not a repair part. MB's cost-benefit is based on what repairs they think are reasonably likely to be incurred during the warranty period. So I could see the only repair on the rack being rack replacement, because rack failure during the warranty period is highly unlikely.

Rack seals and bellows are sold. Given the difficulty of replacing the rack (you have to drop the differential), I am inclined to try replacing the seals. However, if the bellows have failed, it seems likely the shaft underneath is worn from dirt, etc.
