Mercedes BQ 1030004 coolant no longer available
Stopped by local MB dealer, found out that the genuine Mercedes BQ 1030004 coolant is no longer available.
It is replaced by Valvoline Zerex G48 blue coolant.

Yes, replace G05 with G48 ... there are no incompatibility issues.
Dealer has blue, NAPA has Zerex.
BASF of Germany is world's largest chemical company and their antifreeze brand is Glysantin and they are the ones that create the G numbers.

Why not. Coolant is a chemical soup. Nearly anything is possible. Just because the traditional green pet-killing stuff lost its powers at three years doesn't mean everything does.
