Limp mode

Started truck leaving Walmart. Check engine light came on an within 25 feet I could tell I was in LIMP MODE.

I got a message when I hooked it up to my iCarsoft MB 3.0 (updated today) Message reads take it to a shop without switching gears. Anyone been in the limp mode and repaired with out getting a transmission replaced?

2009 GL550 140,000 miles.

Please show all the error codes that the ICarsoft . Go thru all the engine, transmission etc and lost the codes .. we can further assist from there. Yes and many have repairs without replacing the transmission.
When was the last transmission fluid change?
How many miles have you put on the car?
Have you ever had Limp mode appear? Any other Transmission issues in the past?

Now just one GL450 with EORP.
So define limp mode - did you have full power output in the engine?

Was it locked in one gear?

were you able to manually shift using the paddle switches?

as dog here says, the code you read are going to determine what the actual fault is and generally, you don’t replace the entire transmission in one of these - you just replace the vehicle speed sensors on the valve body when this shorts out.

valve body

Once you tell us the codes we can help determine some of the problems. Like Max stated many faults are problems of the sensors in the valve body electronics and many have been fixed by replacing the sensors. There are some good aftermarket repair companies that test and repair the boards . Also the Orings I have talked about can throw the tranny into limp mode.
NEED CODES FIRST!
