2012 GL 350 (OM642 diesel engine) - Cold Start Fuel Pressure Performance
Hope everyone is well! I was wondering if some kind soul can help me tackle this problem with this vehicle.
2012 Mercedes Benz GL 350 - Diesel - OM642
Codes:
P0088 - Fuel Rail/System Pressure - > Too High Bank 1
P053F - Cold Start Fuel Pressure Performance
If I wipe all the codes and then I start the vehicle in the cold it’s fine. Once I drive it takes a while for it to shift from 1st to second (cold). Then the check engine light comes and on and it goes into limp mode.
After about 15 minutes of driving if I restart the car and drive it drives perfectly fine.
I took it to the dealership and they ran a diagnostic. They said the fuel rail pressure was fine and they suspected that it was a clogged fuel filter. I changed the fuel filter last night and still had the same issue this morning.
Should I just left it warm up longer in the morning? 20 minutes? I don’t like idling because some diesel exhaust fumes get in the cabin after a while and it’s annoying to drive.
Any suggestions on what to do? Im making it work by just driving and then restarting and wiping the codes. I’m good for the rest of the day but the first 15 minutes of the day driving is in limp mode which is annoying and not to mention dangerous.
Would really appreciate any help!
