2012 GL450

Collision for my MB

MB GL450. 180k miles. Runs great.

I had an accident. Because of the miles, It didn't make sense to cover under the collision insurance. So what are my options?

1) take to a body shop.
2) Sell for salvage parts? I don't know how this is done. It might be worth more if I part it out.

Any help is appreciated.

No problem with engine block, but there is a potential for the radiator, although it might be ok.

It looks like I would need the hood front drivers fender bumper, grill, headlight assembly. Might need a door, but no visible damage.

So just to confirm, you don’t have comprehensive?

If you do, I’d let them total it and buy it back for scrap, and use the money to buy the parts.

if you don’t you’re buying parts out of pocket.
id use this as a parts car.

If there is no damage to the engine & it still runs, I'd buy used parts from ebay and DIY fix it up, seems mainly cosmetic parts. fender, hood, bumper. power steering reservoir and windshield fluid reservoir might be damaged too. parts cost might be $1500 ~ $3000.
