Gl550 bank one intake cam replacement now not reading at all
So I bought the wife a Gl550 with 81k and had it about two weeks and the m278 pitched a p001685 thought no big deal replace the sensor, well that did not fix it. After farther diagnostics I found that the toner ring had moved, looking in thought the sensor hole an oil cap I could see that someone had already been in there a beat it back into place. Was not happy but life’s goes on, so i ordered a new camshaft, after replacing the camshaft the code came back, so went in to read camshaft values an the intake cam I just replaced was not reading(just setting at the resting number of 36) checked voltage and im getting 4.5v as the rest of the cam sensors are, proceed to check continuity on my single wire an all seems good, while reading the values I moved some wiring around thinking maybe a short in the harness but got nothing. Did notice a bit of oil on my cam sensor plugs but everything looks good on the ecu side. so now I am stumped, wondering if it is possible for a phaser to stick an if so would it be at the resting number, I feel it is was stuck it would be reading anything els other then the resting number. Any insight is much appreciated.
