2011 GL550

Seat Accessories Not Working

I’ve had my 2011 GL550 for 4 years. On BOTH of the front seats, neither the contour seat functions nor the TV’s that are for rear entertainment have ever worked. Seat adjustment function does work.

I’ve just lived with and accepted the fact that when you have an older Benz some things won’t be perfect.

I’m not as knowledgeable with the electric work when it comes to cars. What are the odds the seat accessory functions are on the same fuse or relay? I’m wondering if a simple fix like that would bring those functions back to life.

NGL450 w/EORP, S550

Are they pneumatic like the w211/c215 seats?
if so, there might be a pump in the center console that feeds both seats and if both don’t work, you have a common root cause.

They are pneumatic but the pump is in the rear, rather than the center console. There is a thread in this sub forum about the pump going bad. I did a little bit of that trouble shooting, aka smacking it with a screwdriver while someone else presses the button. I did not test the voltage however. I’m not as versed on how to use a multimeter.

Last thing is I agree that there is a common root cause. Which I think is my overall question posed here. On both seats, neither the pneumatic air functions nor the televisions work. I was wondering if there is common root cause driving the issue for both. Perhaps something electric, e.g. relay or fuse.
