Hi, I have a '08 GL450. Front right wheel bearing is bad, needs replaced so I'm gonna do both fronts. Whats it look like doing these? Possible without pulling the knuckle? Tip and tricks are appreciated. Is the $200 tool from FCP needed, or is there a cheaper/generic brand alternative?
Thanks in advance

See my recent thread. I just finished a complete front end rebuild on my 2007 GL. I would not attempt this with the knuckle on the vehicle, but this was my first bearing replacement, so I do not know what is normally possible. A shop charged me $75 a side to press out the old bearings and press in the new.
The knuckle is not that hard to take out; all my connections (e.g. tie rods) just popped right open.
