P1 vs. P2

What do people think of about Premium 1 vs. Premium 2 on the new GL? Keyless Go can be a standalone option (which I'd get) so that is out of the equation. The upgraded HK stereo isn't a huge deal to me.

So is it worth it for basically the soft close and the lockable storage compartment? Haven't seen a P2 care on the lot so I would appreciate any opinions/input, especially on the last 2 features.

IF the HK stereo is not that important, then, P2 doesn't make much sense cost wise. I spent some time with a new GL with the P2 package.....the soft close doors are nice BUT....more often than not, you and anyone riding in your vehicle are simply going to get in and close the door! You have to remember to just bring the door in gently and then let the system close it....every time I got in the car I forgot and just closed the door! The lockable storage compartment is only big enough for an Ipad and some other small, flat stuff. All that being said.....it's on my order list!

Thanks for the info on the storage. I was envisioning something bigger in the cargo area, but if not that seems to be out of consideration as well. So I guess my decision is down to $1600 or so net (assuming adding Keyless as a standalone) for soft close doors and a more powerful stereo. Softclose is somewhat appealing, my only experience with it is in the 90's when my dad was considering a W140 and it seemed awesome at the time. However I agree probably not that useful and may cause more problems than they solve?

I am skipping the P2 since the order I have to place needs to fall around 70k per my agreement with the dealer. I'm going Lighting package, P1 , heated wheel, keyless go, illuminated boards, Lane tracking. I may add some of the no cost special order options once I see the list...

I tend to agree, P2 isn't a no brainer option. I'd like to see it include more for the price. But I did purchase it in mine as well.

I went with the P1. Perhaps I'm a bit old school. I need to stick a key in a slot someplace!

First time I got a rental car with keyless start it drove me crazy. I was always looking where to put the key and of course where to take it out of when I wanted to shutdown.

The upgraded stereo might be nice, but at what price?

The self closing rear gate is great, I think that is tandard, but on the rest of the doors??? Wow, are we getting lazy or what?
