My dealer called me on Sunday: car is through production and VIN number assigned! He expects delivery in 1-2 weeks, which would be 3 weeks earlier than estimated. I'll believe it when I see it. Scary part: he's had two gl's in the last two months be delivered with options missing from the original order. He didn't get into specifics, but he said the buyers and him "worked it out."

What recourse do I have if this happens with my car? The only reason I ordered was to get a specific set of options/packages that could not be found in a dealer swap.

I almost wish he just waited to call me when it hit the lot. Now the anticipation is excruciating.

It's here....! Arrived on the lot this am..... Pick it up Thursday am!

Reading the previous post on vehicles arriving without ordered options is a bit scary..... but I reviewed my order with the dealer yesterday and what I ordered is what they paid for and, in turn, what I am paying for on Thursday so all should be fine.

Why do you have to wait until Thursday?! That is at least two full days for them to screw something up. Seriously, if I order a GL, will I really have to wait two days to take possession?

When was your original build date scheduled? I would think if they screw up options your only recourse would be to get your deposit back and move on?

Mine arrived mid last week, I refused to take delivery till Mid March ( as per paperwork) , anything they do to the vehicle they are responsible for and if anything in regards to options is missing than your out of luck and will have to "work something out" with the dealer, I hope these problems effect 0.001% of orders as I would be really pissed to find out some of my options are missing.

I would ask them to loan me the exact same car or something similar ( with 7 seats) at no cost to me until the vehicle is ordered again and delivered as ordered with zero issues, I would also ask for compensation.

Ditto on the above..... I have a close relationship with my dealer, they received 4 trucks today, all need to be prepped and delivered and mine is to be prepped by the specific mechanic who does all the work on my MB vehicles.....that being said, they are jammed and don't want to rush it and do a half----d job. The manager asked if I would mind giving them till Thursday am .... I will also get a complete tour of their new 17Mil facility. They always work with me...... I work with them! After 4 months....2 more days is nothing

I would be upset - to wait this long and not be able to get the options you want. I think it will be hard to convince the dealer to give you that car or a similar until your car with ALL options arrive. He will likely sell that one as NEW if you don't want it and GLs are limited so a loaner GL may not be feasible. I would definitely ask for compensation but a lot of these things are not dealer's fault but more MB factory. Maybe MB can throw in free extended warranty.

Yeah..... I know, but when I confirmed with them that the original 52K trade deal for my 2011 still stands..... I "mellowed!"

concerning for sure, though i feel that maybe some of those dealers knew or didnt care to find out about options which were not available for that production decade and didnt inform the customer- in my case an option i had picked ( a trivial one) was ordered but i was informed immediately by my dealer that it was not available, he checked with Germany and distribution- so I knew that wasnt coming and wasnt a deal breaker for me- so personally i didnt care- however for those who are surprised and not informed, theres really no reason for that, i'm almost certain those dealers know exactly whats coming in, or are too busy or dont care to find out- i honestly dont blame MB either- i mean if an option is not available they have no reason to hide it- and here i (like Fab) highly reccomend- stick with your dealer, a close dealer or atleast one from your home state, using dealers you dont know = miscommunication and lack of loyalty..

My brother picking up a 13 this week as well- its been at our dealership since last Fri- and yea unlike me he's ok waiting- he'll take it thursday- when i was called, I got there as soon as i could! lol! they got it prepped and ready in about 3 hours... Heck i went down into the basement and checked it out even before the prep-- my dealer and sa are awesome like that... it was already tinted for me by the time i got there.. but my brother doesnt mind waiting a few days, well i guess he has kind of a busy schedule this week anyway..

I sat next to the sales manager as he entered the order into the system on Jan. 31. All of the options were accepted, so I have no reason to think the dealership was naive to the availability of some things, and they said they weren't alerted to any changes along the way with my allocaton. My build date was Feb. 19.

Congrats to blittle. I know mine will be worth the wait.

I will start the "discovery process" Thursday am.....have a day and a half to play with it then we are flying off to fla for a week , so my "review posts" will be pretty much non existent until we get back and I have time to try stuff! I look forward to a road trip to the mountains of Vermont mid Mar. .....will get to know all the driver asst. equip. and probably the off road snow program as well. Will try to post some pics before we leave , but the weather is supposed to be pretty much crap here on Fri and Sat. Got the weather tech mats, the wax Fab suggested, spare batteries for the key fob, and have read the manual ( ugh)....ready!

OK, you have work to do. You need to figure out the longest path home from the dealership, you are going to have to spend some quality time bonding/imprinting with the new baby.
