X166 Rack Options

Looking to get a roof rack. Couple of questions for anyone who has already been down this path;

Does the Whispbar S55 allow the pano roof to open? (my guess is not)

Anyone try the WB S55 with a base mount to get clearance for the pano roof?

Anyone try the WB S17 with K328 mount? Wondering if the S17 is wide enough?

Thx

I always found it interesting that manufacturers would put the rails on a car, but not the horizontal bars. Kind of cheap not to. What's up with that?

Surely it can't be fuel efficiency on a vehicle of this size.

I'm also interested in any good deals on cross bars - I have a pod and cant attached it currently.

Saves money?

On the previous gen GL, though, you could get the chrome roofbars straight from the factory on one of the option packages.

My 2007 came with horizontal bars. They were installed and had a key to unlock and take them off. Anyone who had a 2007 realized they created a lot of air noise that could be heard in the cabin, so most people took them off and put them in the garage.

Mine were never put back on the vehicle. It might still be nice to include them for the occasions where you need them.
