REST Feature

Can anyone confirm whether this exists. In the owners manual It shows as standard equip with the 3 zone climate control. It would show 'Rest' on the bottom part of the A/C button. This is for US models, Canada has it with all climate control versions. Its very useful here in Chicago. thanks!

The "rest" function is now found only on Canadian models and the "max cool" is found on U.S. and not Canadian... My previous GL's , 07 and 11 both had the "rest" function and, yes, it was useful.

'Rest' is one of the things we lost on the 2013. We also lost the 12V plug at the passenger's feet, under the dash. And for those that had a 2007 we lost the push button to wash the front headlights.

I miss all 3 of those features.

The manual says it comes on every 5th time the wipers engage.

Thanks for all the replies but here's a picture from page 124 of the owners manual. It shows both the MAX COOL and the A/C-REST (Button 4). It also states US only. It looks like this is only available on GL's with the 3 zone climate option. So my question is, has anyone seen this or is it a typo in the owners manual? My apologies for the bad picture.

The online owners manual shows it on page 149 but takes it away on page 157. The 'USA ONLY' must be a typo. Oh well, looks like i'll have to learn French to get this feature.

The manual is a "cover-all-maybe-you-have-it-maybe-we-might-include-it" kind of document!

REST feature in x166 - software coding solution?

Does anyone know if it is possible for the dealer to reinstate the REST feature through software coding? Assumption being it's deactivated in US models. Or is there missing hardware in the vehicle to actually make it operate? For a gas guzzling beast like the x166 it is a great feature to use vs. idling while waiting in the car in cold climates. Thanks

A gaggle of MB's
Gas guzzling - kindof funny - for W166/X166 North American models - compressor is electronically controlled "on demand" controled by both temp and dehumidification ("mist" anti-fog windshield) ... kindof interesting tech on air/power/steering systems actually

Is there more than one 12v plug? I found one under back feet of 2nd row passenger. You have to go to disc manual to find the info which you can't do while driving. It's a little cold to sit in the car reading the manual.
