To my knowledge .... the windshield does indeed have the IR filtering. That is why there are designated areas on the windshield for placement of gps, ezpass modules, etc.

Now I have a small ding just below left eye level on driver's side. Safelite tried a repair, but it still shows. I don't think it's likely to spread, although summer will tell.
But the look bothers me - it's about 1/2 inch black irregular line - like a dead bug streak or something.
What is the worse evil? Leave as is or have windshield replaced - risking issues from that?
The replacement would cost me $300 deductible. I'm not sure what options I have to have MB supervise as blittle did, but I would try.
What would this do to resale either way?

Supposedly….yes….but I'm not 100% sure on that. Perhaps someone else here can be more specific. I seem to recall the mention of that during the buying process but cannot remember whether it was "standard" or some sort of package upgrade.
