Cross Bars from x164

Has anybody tried to see if cross bars from X164 fit on the x166. if not will have to spring for the wisper or the OEM cross bars for the Cargo Box.

no you cannot. the rails on the X166 are set wider apart, so the X164 cross bars are a no go. see this thread for another member's nice setup w/ the whisper bars; they look like a very natural fit: https://mbworld.org/forums/gl-class-...roof-bars.html

plus i'm not sure the chrome bars would look too good on the new aluminum rails!

I tried my bars from the x164 on my 2012. While they are adjustable slightly in width (there is an adjusting nut under the rubber strip), they fell short of the increased width as discussed above.

Part number for x166 cross bars... i have seen A1668901493 and for ML A1668901393 will either work?

Reviving this subject, so do ML 166 bars also fit GL 166 without any issues?
