Ventilated seats....

Just want to "retract" what I said early in some other threads: the ventilated seats DO make a difference under certain conditions. If its hot and humid and you are wearing light clothing.....switch on the ventilated seat function and you WILL feel a cooling sensation! The misconception is that the seats are "cooled" as in AC type cooling....no....they are "ventilated" as the manual explains....drawing the AC chilled air in cabin and pushing it out through the pin holes in the leather. My earlier comments were based on the "cooling" concept and exterior weather conditions that would not make the effects noticeable. I am now glad that I have the option!

I always thought ventilated seats were a ridiculous idea. About as silly as a heated steering wheel. I ate those words. They are both great to have. Not absolutely MUST have but you will enjoy them if you do have them. I will not have the vent seats in my upcoming 450 (unfortunately) but will have the heated steering.

i personally feel the same way- i have also felt that the air is cooler when a/c is on compared to when its not- makes sense as it can also be used for faster seat warming when heater/ heated seats are on..

I'm like the ventilated seats this summer, agree it's more helpful with shorts or dress pants on than it is with denin.

Exactly......its all in what you are wearing and what you expected from the system in the first place. Initial advertising had me thinking they were "cooled" seats....as in AC somehow.....but reality is they draw in and ventilate with, the cooled air in the cabin. Hot, humid days like we are having.......it's a wonderful feature and I'm gladd I have it!

I found useless in mid to warm weather but in very hot humid weather it is quite useful and I can actually feel my back being cooled.
