GL 350 Impressions at 4,000 miles

By the way, the GL350 is fantastic! Pushing 4Kmiles. Took the family up to Mammoth in the Sierras from Orange County (350 miles) and the GL350 kicked butt. It's these types of trips where you really appreciate the autobahn engineering that goes into these vehicles. High speed confidence, stability and passing power were stellar! Did the same trip in my BMW 535 wagon with the twin turbo 6 (300hp, 300lbs) and the GL was equally as quick, strong and agile. I was really really impressed and it made me feel even better about my decision to go diesel vs. gas. Also, here in CA the prices for diesel are below those for regular octane gas and have been for a few months (that's been an unexpected bonus).

Sounds great...! Whether you buy the diesel or the gas you get the same vehicle engineering, the GL is a fantastic SUV! Here in Pa and where I travel in New England, diesel is above premium gas, so diesel was not a choice for me. Am currently getting 21 on frequent 500 mile runs......would get 3 or 4 more i guess on the diesel......but I love the sound of that gas V8 on "throttle up!"

8000 miles on my 2013 GL 350. Incredible vehicle...worthy of the SUV of the year. Only problem is random false alarm indicating I'm approaching another vehicle too fast....thinks it the pre-safe feature.
other than that a perfect vehicle!

We have 13,600 miles on our GL350 and still loving it. Best mpg tank was 28.3, which was a trip of mostly freeway driving.
