First Class Appearance Protection, should I buy?
First Class Appearance Protection:
Wheel and Tire Protection Plus - will pay to replace your tires and wheels if they are damaged by a road hazard - such as a pothole, nail, tree limb or other debris. It also covers "curbing" should a wheel become damaged. This policy paid for a $600 wheel two times for me last year. You have unlimited use for up to 60 months.
This policy costs $1899.00.
Paint less Dent Repair - This covers the annoying "little" things that happen to a car such as door dings or a dent that occurs from a runaway shopping cart. Normally you would either pay for the repairs yourself or simply learn to live with them. This option is good up to 60 months and no limits on how many times it can be used.
This policy costs $599.00.
Once again both products are backed by Mercedes-Benz and good at any Mercedes-Benz dealership throughout the U.S. The two policies can be combined for Total Coverage at a discounted cost.
This policy costs $2199.00 (bundled pricing).
Should I buy it?
to detail the GL it costs hundreds so its worth every penny for the warranty
P.S the paint protection warranty is a must on white cars, the rail dust kills the paint finish in months, you have to clay bar the entire car which takes hours for a vehicle like the GL.

I am in NYC and the roads are horrible. The dealer told me to get the Tire and Wheel First Class appearance package. Given that I am horrible with rims and because of the roads, I am seriously considering this. He quoted me $2,695 down from $3,200. Two questions.
1. do you think that is a good price?
2. If I get it from a specific dealership, do I have to go back to that dealership? The dealership is about an hour away and there are a lot of closer ones to me.
Thanks again for your help.
Also, discuss the fine print with the dealer. A lot of conditions are not covered. One I seem to recall is potholes are covered but curbs are not. There are a few others.
Edit: inserted a crucial not.
