14' 550GL, 14' 350E Wagon, 82' 380SL
Hello Friends
I just wanted to say Hello, I joined this forum as a member tonight.
I've been reading your posts here for some time though. Friday we took delivery of a 14' 550GL, since before we have an 82' 380SL and my daily commuter is an 09' A5 3.2
I'm always planning for the next car purchase, never goes to bed within reading AutoBlog.com and now this site.
I hope to bring some good advice to anyone wanting to buy a GL, asking and answering questions as well as sharing good and bad ownership moments along the way.
By tradition for new members: MY2014 550GL, 755-Steel Grey, H09-Brown Satin Ash wood, 286-designo Auburn Brown leather, 443-Heated Steering wheel, 550-Trailer Hitch, 872-Heated Rear, 997-Driver Assistance.
I talked to my dealer the first time in May, since I wanted to wait for the -14's, we couldn't place orders until August...with delivery in November.

Hi sievers! Welcome aboard. You'll find a wealth of information here. There are the old folks like myself, and others who were original owners of a 2007 GL (it's debut) and now have the newer X166 version. There's others like you who are new to the GL, but not new to MB, and then there's the folks who are experiencing MB and the GL for the first time, and then a few with factory insight that is invaluable.
All opinions and advice is welcome, sometimes we disagree, but in general we all love and are happy with our vehicles. As I'm sure you are discovering these are sophisticated vehicles and we all learn new features and nuances every day.

Welcome. Every person who joins this forum brings a new perspective. Enjoy the GL550. I certainly appreciate driving mine. It is my first MB and as long as they make vehicles such as this, I will be a MB owner for a very long time to come.

2014 GL350BT
Welcome Sievers, I too was a newbie until August this year. Took delivery of my 2014 GL350 that was ordered as a 2013 back in March. It was worth the wait for sure.
We have about 3k miles on it now, only having made short trips nearby but this weekend we will drive from Miami to New Orleans for Thanksgiving, about a 13 hour trip. Actually looking forward to that.
I haven't had any issues other than the MBrace system was not initiated properly and my rear seat enetertainment wireless headphones were also not paired to work with the Monitors. All just set up issues that the dealership should have completed prior to giving it to me. Just minor nusiances.
We're very pleased so far. MPG is averaging near 20 with mixed but mostly city driving. I'm also investigating how to tow a Travel Trailer and finding out what I can and cannot do.
