keyless go performance?

I had a 2008 GL550 before my new GL63 and the difference in how effective the keyless go is pretty significant.

with the old truck.. I could close the doors and easily press the little button on the rear door as I was walking away (about the time it takes the wifey to close her door) and it would lock quite easily. with the new truck.. I am finding that it doesn't seam to work from the rear door buttons and is slow responding on the front doors...

anyone have comments about the performance of their vehicles?
thanks

Have you checked the battery? There were a lot of "weak" batteries in the key fobs……right out of the factory! If you press the "lock" button and don't see a quick flash pin point red light ON YOUR FOB…..the battery is weak and will present issues like you are describing.

Efficiency is a great thing!

When I'm by myself I often close the driver's door and then touch the button on the driver's side rear door to lock it as I'm walking away. I've never had an issue having to wait for the rear door to lock.

When the better half is along, my efficiency isn't as good. I've found it's much more efficient to dig the key out and hit the lock button on it as I'm 10 yards away from the vehicle and after I hear my wife's door close.

But then I usually am due for a comment like "Do you expect your wife to walk 10 steps behind you as show of superiority?" At that point, I reprogram myself to wait at the car for her and forgo the efficiency algorithm running through my head. Some number of days/weeks/month later the algorithms are back, and process repeats itself.

I assume you have a 2014 GL. They have replaced the black button on each handle to just an active edge. With the keyless go in pocket, just touch the outside handle edge to lock and to unlock put fingers inside handle. It works smoothly and better than the old models.

Interesting, the edge unlocks the car on my 2013, but have to touch the button to get it to lock. As winter approaches I'm always happy to recognize that it works even with gloves on.

New to the GL family. I wish there was a way to set it up to lock automatically when you walk away. Spoiled me on my Cadillac!! And a easier way to lock the truck when the engine is running!!

Anyone know of a way to make this happen?

A gaggle of MB's
Lock the truck when it's running - or the revierse start-up the truck when it's locked ?

For the later do a search for remote start - Mid City Engineering.

For replacement FOB batteries Highly Recommended Maxell-Japan CR2025 - available thru Amazon for like $5 for 10 approx - rather than the sh*t Indonesian/China CR2025 packaged by MB (over my strong internal protest by-the-way).

Keep the beat !
