yellow engine light

Have the truck a couple weeks and last week, light came on and has stayed on. I did the typical gas cap check, etc. Going to service tonight. My '12 CLS had the same issue when new and it was a simple cpu glitch, that they reprogrammed. Anybody experience here?

The "check engine light" causes an immediate concern… HOWEVER, the main function of that warning system is to warn of some issue in the pollution control system……can be ( as we know ) a loose gas cap, a malfunctioning oxygen sensor, a problem in the "unburned fuel recovery system", etc…… in short , while the light is disturbing, the problem is usually nothing of consequence. As mentioned above….call for service, they will do a "code check" and all will be will rather quickly…… Mine came on last week, I used the Mbrace system and reported it……they said "if you are not seeing any other warning messages with it, it is most likely the gas cap needing another notch of tightening - try that and see if the light goes out "WHICH COULD TAKE UP TO 48 HOURS" after your fix the cap. I did and the light went away some 36 hours later….. has not reappeared.

Went in for service last night. My salesman actually comes to my house to deliver new cars, swap loaners and bring cars into service. I've been smelling something off w/ the exhaust and he agreed when he picked up truck last night. I'll post what the issue is upon return.
