Pano roof?

I have a loaded GL350 on order and the only option we are on the fence about is the pano roof. Thoughts about the option from those who have it or decided against it? Does it let too much light in for kids to sleep? On the AMG cars the extra weight and noise are criticisms but I imagine this is less of an issue with the GL.

Do you still get a sunroof if you opt out of the pano roof? Thanks.

I almost decided against it but added the pano to my order later because the power third quarter window doesn't without pano.
If u don't get pano u end up without powered window on the 3rd row seat.

We added it and have two young children. They've had no problem sleeping. :-)

I really like how open it makes the cabin feel. The 3rd row side window thing is an added bonus.

yes you still get one. if you don't have pano the shade that opens/closes on the driver/passenger roof is thick and opaque. if you get the pano option, the shade is more like a sheer rolling material i believe.

we didn't get pano b/c of the extra light and heat in the cabin. my kids just didn't like the extra light on our last GL (X164) so we thought it better to not have it. the MY13's still had the power quarter window for third row, but that has since been moved to the pano roof option as the members above mentioned.

The pano roof is not to bright with the shade closed for either my 3 or 5 year old... And they sleep with blackout shades at our house. But I never use the shade and they still sleep fine.

The pano changes the feel tremendously in the cabin to a much more open and spacious environment...it keeps the black interior from feeling like you are in a cave.

As for handling issue.... Not an issue for my AMG

This was my biggest concern and now having had the GL450!for over a year, so glad we for the pano. Sun is not an issue (aside from the side windows) and the kids love being able to look up. I only wish the third row came with a shade. One day I'll get around to tinting the third row.
