Navigation traffic flow triangles

Hi. I just purchased 2014 GL 550 and saw that they changed traffic appearance in navigation system. Before, it is used to be little triangles that shows light or heavy traffic, now it is lines. Anybody knows if there is a way to get the older traffic appearance on the newer model? I called to one of the Mercedes dealers here in Miami, they told me it is not possible, however I started asking him more questions (like can you just put older software in the newer system) and he seemed not very knowledgeable about that.

I know it's not what you want to hear but I find this to be very very unlikely. The lines are not so bad once you are used to them. Triangles were a long time ago.

I don't know, I am just used to the old one I guess. Anyway it is not that old, I have it on my 2013 GL450. They just did the update this year.

I stand corrected. My 2011 C63 and 2014 GL 63 both show lines. My 2009 gl450 showed little cars. I had not seen triangles so I assumed it was pre 2009.

that's odd. my 2013 showed little cars. i've never seen the lines before. my trial period just ended though, i don't think i'll renew.

how much do you pay for the nav traffic? when they called to try to get me back i think they said it would add another $6-7/mo to the radio package.

I only get the traffic. Audio is too lo fi and weather useless. I have multiple accounts with them. Their site is down. I can't check, but I think it is as much as you were quoted.

You know, I should double check this now that you said. Op's triangle description threw me off. And I may be thinking of the GTR's traffic indicators. For sure I see green lines when the roads are clear. I think I do have yellow and red cars. Sorry but I'll check.
