Report on 2nd maintenance cycle

My wife and I went on a little trip to Vegas this week. We dropped the GL off for it's 2nd service even though it was 750 miles of 20,000. My dealer has free airport shuttle and parking, and when you return it's washed and ready for you. Such a great feature.

My service had 2 repairs that I wanted to report. First, one of the soft close doors (driver's side rear) wasn't functioning properly, so it was repaired under warranty. They also found I had a rear sway bar broken, which was very unusual. They repaired it under warranty, but really were stumped as to what could have caused that. They asked if I hit anything, which I hadn't remembered, I suppose maybe some significant pothole or something? Or perhaps just a defect in the manufacture of the sway bar. They were very good about it, I'm happy they found it, seems like something you typically wouldn't inspect.

I'm perfectly happy to have only those 2 issues in 20,000 miles. At least in my instance reliability seems to be very good so far.

Good to hear.... sounds like you have a very good service dept. Someone on here was lamenting the cost of the 2nd service....because it was basically and oil change and bunch of "check this and that"......well, I very much the check process that my dealer does.... I know the head mechanic personally and he takes care of my car....checks stuff like sway bars, etc.... i am willing to pay for that. These cars are machines......things WILL happen, and if and MB dealer does an excellent job of maintenance, then I am willing to pay the price.
